It soon proved easily breakable and hard to fix.   2018 In summer 2018, Apple launched a repair program for affected MBPs—and quietly released updated models with a silicone membrane protecting the key switches from dust. But the problems persisted.   2019 Apple expanded their keyboard repair program to include 2018 MBPs and released a fourth butterfly keyboard design.
